Abracadabraaaaa!!! Boooommm!!!

Hello folks! It me Uswa, back again. Do you know every year on August 19, the entire world celebrates UN Humanitarian Day through out the world? There are several Humanitarians who have spent their lives to make Earth a better place for all of us. One such Humanitarian is Sir Abdul Sattar Edhi. The person with zero haters and the largest ambulance network in the world. This the part of Guinness Book of world records.
But after the demise of this great personality the fund collection and donation of Edhi Foundation fell up to 25%. So we circle 8 decided to lend a hand and collect funds under the banner of Amal Academy.
The experience over all was disappointing due to a number of reasons such as country inflation and COVID-19. But still playing your role in helping someone and particularly being the part of great mission of Edhi Foundation was an over whelming experience.

Most of the funds in the first week was collected individually and remaining was collected by placing fund collection boxes at various locations and from strangers. This was one of the kind experience. We all learnt that even the tiniest drop can be of great value and contribute to the ocean. So, by this way we as a group of 8 people raised a total of Rs. 49,000/- . Putting up WhatsApp status of a paragraph we wrote did a lot of work. People sent in money despite of all odds particularly friends and family through online transfer. I bet if this activity was conducted physically, this amount would have been in LAKHs.

We got to know a bitter reality of life. TRUST! Trust deficit among our people because of cons has handicapped us from donating and helping others. Most of the people went on asking for the proof of our credibility to which we handled pretty well by telling them, that they can sent money to Edhi online bank account and share invoice with us.

Talking about Pakistan, generally Pakistan is among the country which gives out a lot of money to help the needy. We experienced that though there was no physical contact despite of that people send in their Zakat's, alms, charity money very open heartedly due to COVID and Ramadan.

Rejections and success both have made us realize that its okay to be rejected. Its okay to fail. But its never okay to give up. Our post reached a number of 1000 people from the WhatsApp story from them only about 20% have replied. But this shows that kindness still exists. Now its upon us to choose our side.
Following are some flash backs from our activity.
